The Sardine Run, Simplified

For the 2027 Sardine Run season, guests can now book individual seats on our dedicated boat, rather than a full boating package.

Seats can be booked per day, based on conditions
Maximum 8 guests per outing
Ideal for guests who want flexibility
Perfectly suited to both first-time and seasoned Sardine Run travellers

This means you can enjoy the thrill of being on the water whenconditions are right, while still spending time relaxing at the lodge or exploring the surrounding wilderness.

DAIly routine

General Information

After a light breakfast, we head out just after sunrise, launching directly from the beach in front of the lodge. Expect 5–6 hours on the water, following the sardine run as conditions and sightings allow. Back at the lodge, a relaxed lunch awaits, followed by an afternoon at leisure—unwind at the spa or explore Mkambati Nature Reserve on foot, by bike, kayak, canoe, surfboard, or SUP. As the sun sets, gather around the fire before ending the day with a memorable dinner. In the Water: The sardine run can be experienced from the boat or in the water by freediving or snorkeling. All equipment is provided, though guests are welcome to bring their own for added comfort.
