The Sardine Run, Simplified
For the Sardine Run season, guests can now book both individual seat in boat or a private boat option, in order to experience this incredible marine activity.
- Seat in boat can be booked per day (weather permitting).
- Maximum 8 guests per marine safari, accommpanied by specialist marine guide.
- Ideal for guests who want flexibility and tailormake their experience to suit their timing.
- Suited to guests between the ages of 12 - 75 years, who are confident in the water and have a sense of adventure
This means you can enjoy the thrill of being on the water, while still spending time relaxing at the lodge or exploring the surrounding wilderness.
DAIly routine
General Information
After a light breakfast, we launch out to sea, directly from the beach in front of the lodge. Expect 4–5 hours on the water with a packed lunch , following the excitment of the sardine run as conditions and sightings permit. Return to the lodge, for an afternoon at leisure, unwind at the spa or explore Mkambati Nature Reserve on foot, by e-bike, kayak, canoe, surfboard, or SUP. As the sun sets, gather around the fire before ending the day with a memorable dinner.
In the Water: The sardine run can be experienced from the boat or in the water by freediving or snorkeling. All equipment is provided, though guests are welcome to bring their own for added comfort.
